Week 14

Week 14 Blog

In this week’s lesson, we learnt about product sketches using 1 point and 2 point perspective. First, We started off with warmups where we drew straight lines, curves and circles. After when we were taught all those simple shapes and lines, we were taught how to combine those lines together to form an object or shapes of various sizes. Then, we were given different examples to draw and make use of what we had learnt previously. After learning all the basic shapes and drawings with lines, we were then taught  1 point and 2 point sketches where dimensions of an object can be easily drawn. After the practices, we are tasked to sketch our chemical product using either 1 point or 2 point perspective.

In the next part of the lesson, we learnt about the design specifications of our product. It mainly involves 2 aspects, physical and functional. The physical aspect involves what we can see on the product e.g., dimensions

We are tasked to draw our chemical product using 1 or 2 point perspective. Our chemical product is an Air-to-water machine which absorbs water from air with the use of hydrogel. The hydrogel will release the water when it is exposed to sunlight.

This design allows air to flow in from the side of the box to the top surface of the hydrogel. The hydrogel will absorb the water vapour. When it is exposed to the sunlight, it will release water from the bottom and will go to the water tank below it. Water is then pumped out of the machine for use.
